Buffalo

The American buffalo is also known as the American bison. Many hundreds of years ago, this mammal used to be prolific in the Great Plains area of the United States and Canada. The Native Americans that lived in this area had a number of uses for this bovine animal. The buffalo has a brown shaggy coat, and they can weigh anywhere between 900 and 2,000 pounds. When it comes to the herd, there is typically a male buffalo that lives with a harem of a number of females. The male buffalo will tend to the females until they are old enough to mate with. The buffalo does not have many predators besides humans because they are extremely strong animals.
