Chinese crested puppies

Since antiquity, the Japanese had a great passion for small dogs. Those are the descendents of the China and Korea breeds which populated Eastern Asia one millennium ago. The Chinese crested puppies were obtained by crossing the Tibetan Spaniel with the Pekinese. In Japan, some small exemplars were obtained. Those were highly appreciated at royal courts, as they could have been carried in the sleeve. It was brought to Europe in 1854 and offered to Queen Victoria. It was highly appreciated, and now it is of the common England breeds.  From here, it was spread across Europe, where the race was internationally recognized.
